This book will help meet the ever increasing demand for more Australian stories as well as being an  invaluable source for students and parents alike.

So whether you're looking for James Halliday or the great batsman Charles Bannerman, 1001 Australians You Should Know provides a factual, concise account of the lives of those who helped to change the world and who made the nation great.

REVIEW - Australian Bookseller and Publisher - December 2006

"In the most interesting chapter, 'Crime and Law', Creswell and Trenoweth have managed to take a neglected area of Australian history and compile a wealth of crims and cops whose entries leap off the page. From the gruesome Frances Knoor (the 'Baby Farmer') to Sir Redmond Barry (the man who hanged Ned Kelly), this section is fascinating and unique."
